Georgetown Fall 2017 Transfer

@internaute I wouldn’t think so. They would most likely admit on a rolling basis.

@kc15780 Congrats!!! How did they notify you? By phone or email?

@emprsng They notified me by email!

Do you guys think there is anyway they are still accepting?

I am wondering the same as well

Has anyone else heard from Georgetown?

Luckily I was accepted to George Washington university and to UC San Diego with a full ride. But, if only if I get in Georgetown, I’ll go there. Even if I have to get loans to pay for it. Please pray for me.

I was accepted off the waitlist on June 29th via phone call as well. I hate to be the messenger of bad news but all housing deadlines have passed and course registration is almost finished.

The last time I heard anything from Georgetown was around 3 weeks ago when one of the counselors sent me an email saying he was going to bring my file forward to the committee and that I should discuss with my family the possibility of me attending next year. I haven’t heard anything since but I know decisions won’t be coming out until the 15. Would they ask me if I would accept an offer of admission if they were going to reject me??

My friend was waitlisted a couple years back for Georgetown and she was accepted on the 15th. Thought I’d share that since it gave me some hope that they might still accept people on the last day.

It’s been a pretty good vacation since the semester ended; headed to Bolivia in two weeks to travel/visit family.

An acceptance off the WL would be nice, but I’m committed and looking forward to attending GW next month!

Accepted to SFS this Wednesday via e-mail. Probably turning down UPenn for Georgetown!

did anyone get on the second waitlist?

Just got admitted from the extended waitlist!

I’m a rising sophomore at a public school in Texas but am looking to transfer to Georgetown-McDonough for Fall 2018. I’m trying to build a strong application and was wondering what you guys would have done differently for your applications. Thanks.

My daughter was accepted this year. I think what helped was her taking the hardest courseloads in her school and getting excellent grades. This should also apply for transfer students.

I know this thread is old and will be closed, but I just wanted to leave a comment regarding a comment from a few pages ago in case people come to look at this thread. Someone basically said if you applied in high school and got rejected and apply entering into sophomore year, you’ll almost certainly get rejected again. That’s really not true. The vast majority of transfers I know were rising sophomores and most of them did horribly in high school and did great their first year and got into top tiers. Some were rejected when applying as seniors, but accepted the next year. Someone can very well achieve great tings during their freshman year of college, can improve all test scores, get more awards, do research, etc. I mean heck, look at admitted students profiled. Georgetown’s avg gpa is around a 3.8. If you can bring your ACT, for example, from a 32 to a 34 or 35-36 and send in subject tests with 700+,get a 4.0 freshman year, and make your resume even stronger, I guarantee you’re a strong applicant.
