<p>How hard is it to get in to GU Med? is it a top flight med school?</p>
<p>I think that Georgetown and George Washington are both fairly selective (and by that I mean more selective than all medical schools are anyway), but selective in an odd way. They each get a ton of applications, probably because of where they’re located geographically (they get lots of applications from the southeast and from the northeast) and because neither screen primaries (I think). If I recall, Georgetown actually sent me a secondary before my AMCAS had even been processed. So they get a lot of applications, but they don’t necessarily accept their top applicants. I’ve actually heard Georgetown, GW, and Drexel are the schools that get an inordinate number of applications but only accept people that they think are relatively likely to decide to go there if they’re accepted.</p>
