Georgetown or Johns Hopkins University

Wikipedia: “Wilson’s educational background is unknown, although in two episodes, he was dressed in a McGill University sweatshirt. In the episode “House Training,” two diplomas on his wall indicate that he attended University of Pennsylvania; both diplomas are for fellowship programmes. In the promotional photos for the first episode of season 4, his office diplomas are legible. He has a diploma from McGill’s undergraduate school of arts and sciences, and a second diploma from Columbia University’s “School of Oncolgy (sic).””

Thank you Linzoy. Guess I could have gone on Wikipedia myself, but I didn’t think of it. Thanks again.

I like to be knowledgable in all things House, despite my faux pas.

…but can we really trust Wikipedia!?

OP’s last question was which is more “prestigious”. If you subtracted NCAA D1 hoops fans, Hopkins is clearly ahead in terms of overall name recognition and “prestige”, whatever that is.

Prestige is one of the things that makes people interested in hiring you.

Wikipedia is constantly edited by nerds so it’s actually pretty reliable. Check out this article that shows it’s more reliable than britannica. http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/online-encyclopedias-put-to-the-test/2005/12/14/1134500913345.html

This falls into the trap that USNews has set for us with its rankings…the concept that there is some objective way to clarify which is “better” between schools of this quality is absurd. It’s like trying to objectively declare who would be a better girlfriend between Nelly Furtado and Jessica Alba based on cup size.

That’s such a poetic metaphor.

you never mentioned what you want to study…without knowing…use the US News ranking.

^Also, JHU is listed with brown and northwestern at #14 on US News while georgetown is #23…

I plan on being a science major… If you work the same rigor and effort at both these schools, which would be easier to get a med school acceptance? (also knowing that JHU is more difficult and probably more difficult to get As).

Nelly Furtado based on face, Jessica Alba based on body.

Yo just go with Hopkins.

bump…

So JHU has better academics and is more prestigious?

Follow your heart, Alan.

There are many schools out there that are more known for sciences/premed than Georgetown. Maybe keep JHU and look at others too?

i suggest you wait until you get acceptance letters from both schools and visit the campus and talk to people and stuff…
