Excellent essay.

Congrats! That gives me a bit of hope haha

wow, that’s great! did you request your decision early?

no i didnt actually. I actually kind of disregarded the fact that I applied because i didn’t think I was going to get in. But I got the e-mail today around 5.

haha well I hope I’m that lucky too!

@ transferstudent2:

Extremely sorry to hear that. If you don’t mind answering, did that “unlikely” read more like waitlisted or denied? I am just trying to guess how many applicants will be placed on the waitlist.

I would assume denied. She said that if I had any upcoming deposit deadlines at other universities I should go ahead and make them.

Sorry Transferstudent, best of luck at your new school though!

Waitlist for MSB! Am I able to send in final grades or anything else to help my chances?

If you don’t mind, what are your stats?

@michaelungerrr

how did you find out? did you e-mail someone at admissions or did you receive a generic e-mail?

honestly I don’t think we should worry yet. It’s mid may and I’ve only seen about 15 acceptances in CC from last thursday and only 12 people in the fb group. Supposedly more than 200 are going to be admitted and I’m sure committees will have more sessions to make final decisions. I’ve seen someone has been waitlisted before another one that was admitted yesterday, both applying to the college, so I just think their decisions are extremely unpredictable.

I sent an email to an admissions officer and received my decision this morning. Applied to MSB, My stats are:

Freshman International Business Major, attending tier 4 private school in Erie, PA.
HS GPA: 3.54 Class Rank i think 27/133, rural poor public school.
SCORES: Act 28, SAT 1150 (CR+M)
HS ECs: Multiple Bands,Decathlon Captain, Drumline Captain,Cross Country,Animal Rehabilitation Group,Musicals,National Honors Society,Church Groups & attended panels on foreign affairs, few others EC’s were strong.
College ECs: Student Government Rep,Habitat for Humanity (attend national conference), International Students Association
Volunteer Experience: Volunteer work in Guatemala & Indonesia this year, conversation partner for Chinese student, TASOW animal presentation group few others, stronger part of my app.
College GPA: 1st Semester 3.92 (18 Credits) 2nd: semester 3.85 (21 credits)…45 total.

Recommendations were great & my essays were very thought out.

@michaelungerrr You can send anything that might look good, it won’t hurt you to try. Also you’re expected to write them a letter. Good luck!

@ michael, first off congrats! If I were you I’d send a letter of continued interest, pretty much thanking admissions for their time and consideration, and reiterating your interest in the school. In the letter you should also ask if they would like to see your second semester grades. I’d e-mail it straight back to the person you asked for your decision.

@FromWildcat2Hoya
I sent a short email back saying that I would like to be on the waitlist, that I was sending my grades monday, and if there was anything else I could send that could help them reach a decision to please let me know (something like that) are you suggesting I type up a letter and mail it to admissions?

What are the chances of getting off the waitlist? Other than a letter sent, my grades were 6As 1B this semester; how are those on the list chosen for acceptance? Do relatively good grades help or is there a hierarchy?

@Michael: I think at this point additional correspondence can only help you. If you sent back a brief e-mail, type up a formal letter outlining any updates/ qualities that would make you an exceptional candidate and further your chances of getting off the waitlist. But that’s just my suggestion, you should do what you feel most comfortable with. As always, good luck!!

I posted this on the “official” thread but I thought I’d ask here too…

Since the leaning answers a lot of CCers have been getting are not final decisions, I’m wondering… is there any chance that an unlikely leaning answer via email/phone has the possibility of resulting in acceptance/waitlist? Does any body know through personal experience, the grape vine, last year’s thread…?

Hopefully these decisions are coming out in the mail soon since its mid-May. I’m wondering if all the acceptances came out in e-mail first or if that was only for a select few.
