Georgetown Transfer Questions

It was apparently a select few

does anyone know when we would hear about getting off the waitlist?

supposedly between mid-june and mid-july.

wow, thats quite some time. i do wonder how many will be selected :(

bewtween mid-june and mid-july??? This wait is going to destroy me lol

Anyone here get a decision from SFS yet?

a few people in the fb group got accepted to SFS

Emailed admissions because I have the Vanderbilt deadline approaching and just got a response saying “it looks unlikely.” She said final decisions will be mailed on Monday.
My decision just got easier! haha. Good luck!

To the people who got accepted so far, did you apply for financial aid, and did you receive your packet?

Can’t wait for June 15th!

If you guys don’t mind, we should start a decision list for future transfers:

NHS

So I finally got an e-mail confirming that they got my mid-semester reports…and now they asked me when my final grades are in. BUT WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???

I seriously hate this waiting, I feel like I’m about to bald prematurely. And I’m female.

Did anyone get financial aid information yet? I was told it would come in the mail, but I haven’t received any type of award package? My decision is really pending on Georgetown’s financial aid award…if I ever get one.

@ Bookshop: It seems that they’re interested in your app. Although I read in the other G’town transfer thread that all decisions have been made. So, your situation is slightly confusing.

Does that mean that if we haven’t been asked for our spring final grades then we’re not being seriously considered?

do you know how true it is that all decisions have been made? why would they be sending the last of the letters all by monday then?

@hookedongtown Tell me about it! I saw that post, too, and don’t know what to make of it. Though as a matter of principle I don’t really trust admissions officers on dates, just because of my experiences with the other colleges I’m applying to…

@IrishLad23 No, I don’t think so, don’t worry about that. I go to an English university, the grading system and the curriculum are very different, so it makes sense that they would want mid-semester reports/final grades just to have more information.

for anybody wondering, on the acceptance letter it said
“This year, Georgetown’s Admissions Committees considered over 1,600 transfer candidates for approximately 170 spaces.”

Hope that helps.

Is an “unlikely” necessarily the death nail?

I just called and got the typical, all decisions will be out by June 1st.

Congrats to a waitlistee! I’m going to Duke instead of Georgetown.

Although I must say I was extremely excited to live in Washington, DC. I guess Durham isn’t too sketchy though…
