Has anyone else gotten an interview? Admissions sent me the contact info yesterday and I was wondering what the usual questions were (my interviewer scheduled it for this weekend and I’m super nervous lol).
Don’t worry. I don’t think the interview is evaluative.
When are we supposed to hear about notification?
My friend who transferred to Georgetown heard back in early May last year. But I think typically late May-early June.
How is everyone handling midterm reports I’ve been trying to communicate with my University to see if they can send my midterm transcript directly to colleges but they haven’t been overly helpful.
@Vsb2023 I don’t think we have to submit a midterm report do we?
@dunnowheretogo No, we do not. I know other schools need it but not Georgetown.
Did anyone here not receive an interview? I had one for undergrad but I didn’t get one now and was wondering if they would just use the one on file which would be fine with me. Just wanted to see if anyone asked or had experience with this.
I did not either, and it’s my first time applying.
I did get an interview & im a first time applicant but i know that that doesn’t necessarily mean too much. cause they assign the interviews based on alumni availability in your area. Also I received mine a couple weeks ago, with everything that’s going on maybe they are just holding off on them?
Did anyone hear about how colleges were accepting more students this year because of the coronavirus? Any opinions on how it’ll affect transfer admissions?
I don’t really think that applies to elite universities such as Gtown, they have more than enough to choose from. At best it will increase # on waitlist.
How do you guys think the admitted student numbers will be affected? I heard they accept more when kids study abroad but that might not happen next year… do you think the numbers will be even lower
Can someone tell me what they think my odds are? I’m transferring from a highly ranked small liberal art school. I was waitlisted at Gtown last year. I have a 3.9 college and high school gpa. I got 1470 on my SAT. I also don’t need any aid. Georgetown is my dream school!
Received an interview request email today. Didn’t submit a complete application until 03/28. Was ready to submit in February, started doubting myself and coming up with reasons why Georgetown shouldn’t be an option. Then changed my mind last minute, worked on essays for a few days and hit submit.
Kind of nervous but plan to research and be prepared.
I received an interview request on March 20th, contacted the guy on 25th, still havent heard back from him yet lol
I think there’s a second contact person in the email in case an interviewer hasn’t responded within a certain amount of time @jasonyfgong. I’ll follow up once if there’s no response but I could do without the extra stress of an interview. Getting through the application was enough. lol
Didn’t realize the interviews were face to face…wondering how this is supposed to work with a shelter in place order. ? Unless they switched it to phone or video interviews but I haven’t read anything confirming this.
I contacted the second person as well. No responses. I’ll prob email the school lol
It’s definitely going to be face to face now at this point i suppose.
@SatanFlower69 @jasonyfgong My interview was just a phone call! I don’t think they’re allowed to meet face to face.
@kai0910 thank you! Thats a relief. I would like the opportunity to interview but feel more comfortable over the phone. If this helps anyone else I called admissions earlier and was told interviews would either be via phone or “most likely waived which will not count against you”
update: interviewer responded today, seems really nice. Phone interview will be either Wednesday or Thursday. Based on the tone of his email I’m pretty sure itll be more on the informal/casual side which has calmed my nerves a bit.
