I really hope to receive the decision in late April
has anyone submitted their mid-year grades? if so, how did you do it? I was just going to self-report on a word doc and show screenshots of them in my school’s online grading database but I’m not sure if that’s the right way to do it.
I had my interview a few weeks back with a local alumni over the phone. It was a really easy conversation, you just have to make sure you know why Georgetown is unique and a potential choice, and I researched a lot about specific programs that impressed her. It’s not a deciding factor, but it can only add to your application. My convo with her was only about 35 min tho.
@TenTsewang4 I really enjoyed my interview. We ended up talking for about 45 min but I think around 30 min is probably the norm. Glad I did more research on Georgetown and the reviewer. It was less like an interview and more like chatting with a friend.
@childishlandino Uh oh… I submitted them now but I was on autopilot and just submitted the same form that the common app uses for midterm grades even though GT isn’t a common app school… Ack!! Worried that might look badly on me like I’m applying to multiple schools (which I am) and gt isn’t the only one …
I really hope I can get a phone interview. I submitted everything way before the deadline and started the Georgetown app in 2019. Hopefully it doesn’t mean anything’s wrong if you don’t get contacted for one…
And @fraisesdesbois I feel like it probably isn’t a big deal. They should know that most applicants will apply to multiple schools, many of which use the common app, and you probably aren’t the only one who did that:)
@herewegooo I don’t think it means anything if you aren’t contacted for an interview since it depends on location and alumni availability.
@fraisesdesbois I did the same thing! It wasn’t an accident though… just didn’t want to make my professors fill out three different versions of the same form
When will the results come out?
@JasmineR not certain but based on previous threads I feel like results will start last week of April or first week of May. Interviewer mentioned the deadline to submit was this week but Im not sure if that was his individual deadline or general admissions deadline. So basically it could be any day. ??♀️ Which is nerve racking.
hi guys. I applied yesterday because my brother goes here and he forced me to apply lol. Am I to late to submit all of my documents? Also, I applied to the business school.
I know I am really Late but I will be submitting everything tomorrow. Also, is there anything that I need to know about the interview? Thanks guys
Pls don’t roast me lol I know I have a 0% chance of getting in
Do y’all think that the acceptance rate will go down drastically since there will most likely be no students going abroad (so no spots available)?
@SophTaf well it also goes the other way in the sense that Internationals won’t be coming here to study.
I definitely didn’t think about that. You really think that some international students won’t be able to attend this fall?
the world economy is literally in shambles and a lot of other countries suffered it before us so right around the deadline time for many schools.
Based on the results of the first-year application of my friends, I think the acceptance rate will be much higher since the institutions need money. Besides, there is a big unpredictability so schools will accept more students to maintain there are enough students.
What was the acceptance rate this year?
Hi all,
Only posting because I transferred in 2017 and understand what you’re going through. First of all, feel free to message me about anything. I (or people I know) can act as a resource for the university. First of all, don’t worry if you didn’t get a phone interview. They don’t mean anything. I know people that had them and didn’t get accepted and people that didn’t and did. So, don’t fret. Second of all, you’re all probably right that the university will accept more students than it usually does. I don’t know, however, if that applies to transfer students. They’ll probably accept more transfer students than can afford to attend Georgetown. Georgetown accepts a lot of transfers and a big chunk of them get full scholarships. I have a feeling that won’t be the case this year. For context, Georgetown refunded 45% of our dorms. Those that paid full tuition/took out loans received the full amount. Those that received scholarships (particularly low and middle income students) received $100-600 out of the $2,650 housing credit. Super unfair for those groups but such is life. Additionally, I wouldn’t speculate about international students that might be unable to attend. Internationals typically pay full tuition so Georgetown probably won’t turn them away. This university likes the money. In all fairness, you all should probably prepare to start this Fall online. Professors have mentioned that a timeline is being discussed for the university’s virtual learning environment next semester (although no final decisions have been made). I have also heard that the university is also considering what to do with students that have unstable or unhealthy home environments so we’ll see what that means. I’ll update you on anything that happens! I feel for you. Weird times!!
