Does the earliness of a reply have any correlation with acceptance/denial? I haven’t heard back yet and am getting a bit nervous!
@PixelyPirate I think if you hear early you are accepted, if not accepted or waitlisted then June 1st.
@PixelyPirate @Transferiscomingsoon I don’t believe that yesterday was the only wave of acceptances especially based on last year. There were multiple waves of acceptances way before June 1st, pretty sure around the first week of May. Coming out this early is a little surprising but hopefully, there are more waves coming this or next week. Also, I expected the thread to be much more active considering how active it was last year around this time.
for those who requested an early read, how did you frame it? Did you say you had to respond to other colleges or were more vague about it?
I called the Dept. of Undergraduate Admissions, and they said you can only request an early read in writing via e-mail. The e-mail address is transferadmissions@georgetown.edu. I just explained that my in-state school needs a response by May 1st, attached the acceptance letter, and asked for an early response.
Do you think it is too late to submit an additional letter of recommendation?
Hi everyone, did y’all get your decisions? I’m applying for SFS and I submitted my application on 3/1, but I saw ppl already getting decisions. I also applied to SCS and got in yesterday.
@30bakpia nothing yet for me. Anyone hear back from NHS?
@30bakpia haven’t received a decision yet but I don’t think Georgetown issues a decision until all required materials have been provided and in my case a high school transcript was never received. Timeline below.
Submitted transfer app 01/03
Submitted Georgetown app 03/28
Alumni interview 04/09
Missing materials email 04/16
Missing item updated 04/23
Decision: No idea ?
I got into Georgetown College.
Top 15 Lac
Major: Anthropology
SAT:1560
College GPA: around3.9
@JasmineR Congrats! When did you happen to find out and when did you apply? Seems like it’s rolling and hasn’t really been school-specific but so far all acceptances.
@JasmineR I also applied as an anthropology major but haven’t heard back. Do you think they’d only take one?
My request for an early read received a response today.
That response included a hint that the first round of decisions would be released in their entirety in the coming days.
@PixelyPirate in the coming days? That couldn’t be more vague. Edit: my fault, read too fast and skipped over entirety. Thanks for the update
I mean that’s something! But what does that mean- a few days, a few weeks?
Does that mean *tonight?
*It’s probably not, but I don’t want to think I have to spend the whole weekend thinking about if I got in or not
@PixelyPirate Can you post what they sent you if you’re comfortable with that?
Any chance there might be another wave tonight? Judging by last year, the first waves fell on a Monday and Friday in the same week.
Probably not tonight, but my early read asked for before May 1st and he said that shouldn’t be a problem and that if it took that long to email him. I submitted at the end of February, and so apparently I was one of the first reviewed.
Let me be clear, from the correspondence it wasn’t the entirety of all transfer applicants, but from what I read, the first wave of their reviews
I think they’ll definitely take more than one anthro major:)
