Hi there. I guess its time to start a Fall 2025 thread. Hope everyone’s application season is going well.
DS is weighing EA Georgetown vs ED Duke.
-3.86 UW (11 AP’s)
-34 ACT
-Eagle Scout, Varsity Track, Lieutenant in local police dept. explorer program, competitive pianist, law firm intern, red cross volunteer 4 yrs, established/leading school’s Wharton Investment Competition team
-attended Hoya Summer Business and Leadership this past summer
-Finance major, but wants the BSBGA degree
-Has alumni interview scheduled for this Monday
Still have a month until application deadline, so will see how the interview goes and whether Georgetown remains DS top school.
My son still hasn’t heard about interview yet. Have you submitted the entire application already? So stressful to have the interview before Nov 1 when they didn’t assign an interviewer yet. Also, which state are you applying from? Thanks!
There’s no requirement that the interview be completed by Nov 1, as far as I’m aware. A few years ago, one of kids applied at the last minute and interviewed in late Nov, if I recall.
Thanks, that’s good to know. I called the admissions office and they said they like their EA applicants to have the interview by Nov 1.

My son applied EA and was interviewed in mid-September.
So roughly 25 days or less until they hear right?
Yes, but from what I understand the vast majority of students are deferred at this stage.
Do decisions typically come out on the 15th, or are they rolling beforehand?

I am thinking the 15th this year is a Sunday. I can’t imagine decisions coming out on a Sunday. So…I am hoping it’ll be Friday. Unless they have a history of releasing decisions on a Sunday?

Georgetown has released decisions on a Sunday afternoon in the past, I think 12/13/20.

Ivy wise says by Dec 15, so I’m assuming earlier

Interesting! I always assume weekends are just off the table. And then I get nervous on Mondays again. LOL
I hope it’s next Friday, but next weekend is fine too. Better than waiting until Ivy Day!

of course a vast majority are deferred - they can not accept everyone! at least they do not deny.

Georgetown sends letters to admitted students and tries to time them to arrive on the release day, so a Sunday would be surprising but who knows?
