Georgetown University Summer Fundamentals program

Hello all!
I am a current sophomore student in high school, who has several questions about the summer fundamental programs offered to high schoolers.
So those who have ever taken the summer fundamentals i have a few questions…

  1. Which program did you choose? I am planing on doing either “Fundamentals of Business: Leadership in a Global Economy” “Fundamentals of American Government” or “Fundamentals of Foreign Policy”.
  2. How rigorous were the classes? is it difficult to get an A or are the programs designed that high schoolers can simply get good grades?
  3. Are there lots of test etc… or is it mainly in-class assignments and projects? in other words, how is are we graded?
  4. How independent are we? I was hoping to get a true college experience of doing what i need to do by myself with independence. I have done plenty of other college programs that have promised a college experience, but then restricts where you can even go to dinner… But since this is FOR-CREDIT, i was hoping it may be different.

Thank you!!

Oh and also, how hard is it to get in?

This is a blog from 2013 written by students in different Georgetown summer programs, the entries might answer some of your questions (just search “fundamentals” and posts about those programs come up, and then you can click on the names of the authors of individual blog entries and see all their posts about the specifics programs you are interested in). https://blogs.commons.georgetown.edu/summer-scs/
