Georgia Tech - Chance of converting from Gold Scholarship to Stamps Scholarship

We got an email saying my son was chosen as a Gold Scholar at the Stamps Scholars Weekend at Georgia Tech. We are out of state and would consider Gtech only if he gets Stamps Scholarship. Does he have a chance to be selected as a Stamps Scholar? His email did not say anything regarding if he is an “SPS Alternate” it just said we will consider you if spots open up.

Do any of you know if Georgia Tech sends email with status as “SPS Alternate”? This is what we got - Does this make him an alternate?

From your experience is it - No for Alternate or No for email from Georgia tech. Can you please elaborate? Thanks!

That’s an odd email. But rarely do they need to go to alternates at Tech as they already account for yield in the offers made.
