@tenseMom Please do not worry. Your son is very smart and is an over achiever. I totally get you as I am a mom too. The recent college admission decisions do not define your son. I am not saying this just to console you. I believe this. He will reach places in his life and you will have your proud moment. It might happen very soon or in few years. But be assured it will happen.
To make everyone even more nervous my OOS kid graduated from GaTech last year and is grad school in Boston now but she has several friends who just finished up at Tech last week. In the middle of the most dismal and confounding job market in decades, everyone of them is entertaining 2 or 3 very good job offers and trying to decide which one to take. There are no sure tickets but GT (and stanford and MIT) are semi-sure.
All’s quiet on the Waitlist front. I feel like this is like being pregnant and late for your due date. Every day your chances go up exponentially, but every day is more uncomfortable. That’s my analogy for the day!
HAHAHha Thank you so much. I needed that laugh today. LMAO. I was bugging my child to check his emails, portals and he is like 'mom why don’t you focus on your work , if I get something you will know, I will make a huge noise" and whenever he peeks inside my office I am like WHAT?? nothing, I am just hungry are his answers.
@tenseMom As an in-state student, your son can go to GSU for 3 semesters and then transfer to GT. Start celebrating your son’s final weeks in high school; have a great summer (do nothing but relax and think of what he wants to do at GSU in the fall). GSU is right next to GT. He will be more motivated at GSU; maybe get a part-time software internship in Atlanta while going to GSU. He will come back to GT stronger and more mature than other students. Relax… All will be fine.
This thread has been awfully quiet. I spoke to GT admissions and was told they will be releasing admission decisions in small email batches. Hope more admissions are to follow.
