Georgia Tech class of 2024 waitlist thread

@umich2024 sorry can you clarify? Did they email you that decisions about getting off the waitlist will be after June 1st?

When I called they told me it was by June 1st, not after.

When I called them they said they will go to waitlist after June 1st. I hope it’s clear.

Yes you are correct they will go to waitlist after June 1st.

“I see GT usually in the top 15 of the most expensive schools for out of state tuition.”

Huh?

Of all the top public schools in the country GT is the least expensive. A bargain actually.

UVA, UCB, Michigan are all about 20k more per year.

Should have clarified that the cost I referred to was for midsize schools

I called GA undergraduate admission this morning inquiring wait list process and got this response.

We have begun evaluating our incoming class and are sending out notifications as we find spots within the class. All wait listed students should receive a decision by June 1st.

wait im slightly confused by the responses - some people are saying they’ll dip into the waitlist AFTER june 1st & some are saying they’re dipping into the waitlist right now & we’ll know our waitlist decision BY june 1st

They told me by June 1st everyone should know.

Our email some time ago also said by June 1st, not after June 1st.
They promised to notify all waitlisted people before June 1st.
You will need to ask them what is their plan after June 1st and will they keep waitlist for the summer given coronavirus situation or not. It is possible that they still may take couple people here and there, but this will happen if they will significantly underenroll due to international visas possible issues. But it does not look that admission office is thinking this way now. ( They’ve never had coronavirus before.)
There is a possibility that they are intentionally over-enrolling a bit now due to coronavirus. We can only guess what they are doing and thinking.

Has anybody gotten off the waitlist yet?

I thought this was pretty good on GT admission process…
