DS got admitted off the waitlist yesterday for Computer Engineering. We are OOS. The last 2 months was very stressful for him and us as we were waiting to come off the GT waitlist. I was frequenting this discussion on CC and Reddit waitlist thread to keep our hopes up. It was worth the wait and happy DS did get into the college that was high up on his list. I wish and hope @tenseMom and others who’ve been waiting here get the good news soon from GT.
Hopefully, they will admit in-state kids in the last wave (if there is one).
Our son, in-state and local to Atlanta, got off the waitlist yesterday – accepted in Electrical Engineering. So, they did take (at least) one in-state student during this wave. Agonizing decision now - son registered at another great school, found roommate, buried all his GT t-shirts, walks around house saying Go Blue, etc. But, that decision was all based on GT being unattainable. And now it’s not. And with Hope & Zell - big difference financially (though we can afford). But, options are never bad, even late in the game. It will be interesting to see where we come out on the decision. Best of luck to the rest of you still waiting.

aww thank you. Hope to hear something after deferral date. If not that is also fine. He will enjoy his State College and try for transfer or may be Grad school.
Son got accepted to Georgia Tech last Friday (Comp Engg). He is super excited about it but concerned about availability on-campus housing. Apparently, most of them have been assigned. Anyone else in the same boat? Anyone else considering off-campus housing (if so, PM me)? Could use a room-mate if off-campus is the only option.

Is it UMich as “Go Blue”? UMich is also a great school and is at the same level as GT engineering wise. But it’s very expensive for out of state. Hope he would pick GT. He will love it. Congratulations!

Feel like the chance of getting of waitlist are close to 0. Right now I only put my hope on transfer next year, and really hope @tenseMom 's son get off the waitlist. I am supirsed to see a parent who care so much about application status like u do. I don’t even think my parents know where I go for college. Maybe because part of the faust on the language barrier.
