Georgia Tech Class of 2028 Official Thread

Last year it was on Friday, March 24. My guess is this year will be on Friday, March 22.

No idea but the 10 percent RD admit rate was from a couple of years ago at least. Applications go up every year.

I just an email saying my password is expiring soon and I need to reset it (well before any speculated decision date). Applied EA2, deferred. Though probably not a tell.

Not a tell. It expires every once in a while and we are hitting the time where it is expiring if you applied and set up your account right before the EA deadline.

My best guess is that it releases somewhere from 3/20-3.25. Right around the time I speculate CMU RD to come out for any of you CS folks.

My bet is 3/22 because they always release on Fridays.

Could someone who has been admitted share the dates for accepted student day(s) please? I see the link to log in to the student portal to register for these, but can’t find the dates.

Are you referring to the Gold Carpet Days? Someone mentioned that those were fully booked already. Your only options left might be the regular admitted students tours.

Wasn’t sure of the name, but thanks. That’s disappointing if so. You’d think they have to make more of them available after the RD decisions…

We just visited last week and unfortunately didn’t get a spot in the Gold Carpet event. But they have other ā€œadmittedā€ options and it was full of information and well done. We spent about 5-6 hours on campus.

Oh that’s great to hear thanks!

Hopefully there will be some (weekend) options for those in April.

Anyone a ā€œnon-stemā€ admit? D24 is looking at the History, Technology & Society major as he’s currently hoping to go to law school in the future (aware that students change their minds frequently). He is currently doing well in Honors Calculus, but he’s not taking any AP math courses. He also scored higher in verbal than math on the SAT.
Recognizing that GTech has so many extremely strong math students, how are the math courses for non-stem students? His major requires a couple of math classes, which he’s fine with - but, worried that they might be more difficult at GTech than at a non-tech school. Any business or non-tech students out there?

Being a local/in-state, I know of plenty of students who attend Tech as non-STEM majors. It’s not atypical.

Math, generally speaking, is the same at most schools. Your daughter will probably be in classes with many people in similar situations.

Did any portal astrology work from the early round that we could take a look at for RD

No, none of it was accurate.

There was something about folio and files. How did that turn out?
