Same here. (Tried it as a negative control)
Tesla,
Youâre right. That link appears to still be working, but there was another link that I had used to access it, and itâs down now. (I tried to copy the link and add a screenshot, but it wonât let me. Maybe my CC account is too new.)
Georgia Tech admissions and IT people follow this website. If thereâs a loophole and we put it on here, they will find it. When my oldest applied to UVA it was the same thing. They were reading the college confidential and closing up the loopholes and posting stuff on the links like ânothing to see hereâ.
Deferred. She was not able to access the webinar previously.
She was deferred at UGA as well. So a bit more waiting on those two, but she has acceptances for a few other schools that sheâs interested in. Again, best wishes to everyone.

Hello My Son got the GA Tech EA1 Admission letter saying "Unable to of offer admission for the first yearâ. Can anyone please advise if he can apply in Regualr decision Or can not apply at all?
Appreciate your reply
Thanks

Pathway is a great option for those who have GT as a dream school. Many go to KSU or GSU and transfer after a year. If they go somewhere they love and donât end up transferring (happened to one of mine) that is fine too. Good to have it in your back pocket.
I will say the social aspects of transferring can be difficult and lonely. Some outgoing kids navigate this with ease but it is tough for many. Lots to consider for sure but a great option to have!
Sorry about that decision. If he wants to go to GT he will have to apply as a transfer student after doing a freshman year elsewhere. If you are rejected EA you cannot apply RD.
My daughter was accepted!!!
That means he is out unfortunately. He can try transfer after first year
Daughter Deferred for Architecture
SAT - 1540 (790 Math)
GPA - 98.89 (W)
NMSF
4 Year Varsity Athlete
8 AP, 1 Post-AP
Senior Class President
So honestly, that is not a terrible thing. Even if they got into Georgia Tech for architecture, they would have to do a masters somewhere else.
Honestly, this is surprising with such credentials. Is her high school so competitive that her stats appear lower than the median for the school?
Congratulations! I am OOS and my result is in Jan. Are there any tell-tale signs which shows you are an admit/reject/defer?
For GT, class rank is valuable. GPA & class rigor, then all extracurriculars. SAT/ACT comes into play to cover some little GPA down and based on Major (Math or English helps). College Major is also a factor. GT give 30% class /(interestingly, 30 % applicants from school), conditional transfer - for those donât have that good GPA but very good extracurriculars. Deferred is those 22-40% ( based on GPA/rank) of the applicants from school. others reject. This is my analysis based on very limited data
This link gives â GT school wise stats: Admission Snapshot | Undergraduate Admission
One thing, I observed 30% applicants from school. Class Rank is Key. Conditional - extracurriculars key.
Well, they could do a masterâs at Tech, no? Not saying thatâs the right thing to do but, their MArch program is NAAB accredited. (I do know some undergrad architecture majors have no plans to work as a licensed architect, so accreditation is not a priority.)
For those who were deferred, I would wonder if they had any activities that support being an architecture major (separate from course preparation.) We also donât know class rank/unweighted GPA of @girlmom2025âs D.
Yes, competitive high school that doesnât rank or do unweighted GPA. She couldnât do a summer architecture program due her paid employment and the cost of the architecture programs. Sheâs also a current sibling legacy (not sure if thatâs considered though).
The AOs would be looking at relative standing in the class by GPA and rigor. Assuming there were many applicants to Tech from her HS, there would be a decent sample size for comparison. They would also look at how many non-As there were on the transcript.
Lastly, when counselors/teachers fill out their forms/write their LoRs, they do make judgments of relative rank (âtop fewâ âtop 10%â etc).

Good luck to your D (and you ) through the rest of the process.
