Hi. I have read countless threads and articles between the two but would really want input regarding these universities according to my personal taste. Thank you!
I am an international student in the tropical area( i love summer). I’m really good at time management but sometimes dont follow it :P. I like to have the time to explore maybe my own ideas without sacrificing anything. i really would like to have fun with college events. I also love interacting and getting to know people. I really want to get to know the subject and innovate too. I also want a good pay. ( Internship as well.). . But the most important thing is more safety and less rascism.
So according to the above which college do you think i can make the best use of? ( Forget financial stuff )
Have you asked specific questions on the forum for each school? I think students at each could help you with your questions.
We recently researched both schools to consider applying for 2016, plus I travel in my job so know a bit about lots of places here in the states. I trust you know that academically you are in great shape at either.
Both schools have a high % of international students, but if you want more exposure to different Americans, Tech has more out of state students from all over the country, and is in a fast growing big city, while Illinois is in a non-descript town surrounded by not much. With living in any big city, like Atlanta, you have more safety concerns. But if you live in and enjoy the tropics, you will have a big adjustment your first Midwestern winter at Illinois.
Unfortunately, racism can pop up anywhere, in a cornfield, or in a big city.
