GER questions

So I emailed the Registrar a month ago with a GER question. Of course, the Registrar has yet to reply, or even, I assumed, read, my email.

So I’ve yet to fulfill my DB:SocSci requirement and none of my EC requirements. One of the options for fulfilling the EC req is to take two double GER classes. If I chose to take Soc 141A, which fulfills DB:SocSci and EC:American Culture, and Music 9A: History of Russian Music, which fulfills DB: Hum and EC: Global Community, am I done with all of my GERs?

As long as you take them for a letter grade, I think you’re done.

Yes, you can definitely have one class fulfill two requirements, provided they are for a letter grade.

Sweet! So I don’t have to take Psych 1.

Darn =p It’s a great class.

(Shameless plug… I was a Psych 1 TA. ;))

That’s really awesome that you have been able to double-dip with your GER’s. I have been trying to do the same as well. Here’s a good resource, although it hasn’t been updated for summer quarter http://norad.gotdns.com:7564/stanfordgers/index.aspx

OMG that website is amazing. What other resources are out there for Stanford?

Celestial, that website is awesome!

There’s also courserank.com which is based on the old courseguide site. You can read (and write) reviews of classes and profs.

Can someone explain how that GER website shows you which two required subjects are fulfilled by each course? I don’t get it…

You sign in, indicate which requirements you want to get rid of that quarter, and it pops up a list with the possibilities for that quarter. What’s confusing you?
