<p>I HATE the stupid Gerber Life College Plan commercial, talking about saving for college and one woman “yes, we started” and another one says “how did you even know where to start?” ROFL. What a maddening advertising angle. Someone sitting at home is saying, “wow I don’t really know so I’ll call Gerber Life. Problem solved!” Ugh.</p>
<p>It is a lame commercial.</p>
<p>The plan itself seems to be paying about a 3% fixed rate, which compared to a bank account is pretty good but isn’t even keeping up with college inflation. I didn’t see anything about upward adjustments of the rate, so in 5 years when rates are more normal this might not even match a bank account’s return.</p>
<p>A friend of mine worked for them at one point. Seemed like a fairly sleazy outfit.</p>
