<p>Get ready for a change— the David R Filo Scholarship </p>

<p>Well, its a change in name alone. The Deans Honors scholarship, which apparently receives generous funding from Yahoo co-founder, Tulane grad and former DHS recipient David R Filo will now have the scholarship named after him. I guess if one is going to give generously of their financial resources, one can have this acknowledged in the name of the scholarship. Sounds fair to me, though I’ll bet it’ll be a little confusing to those used to the DHS name, for a while.</p>

<p>BTW, DS mentioned to me that due to the financial climate, Filo was considering discontinuing his funding of the DHS. There was a strong letter-writing, “thank you” campaign from current DHS recipients to Filo, on special thank you card notes. DS was able to use an extra piece of stationery to write an extra “thank you note” for a nice dinner he was treated to in NOLA :wink: .</p>
