i just received a package from CMU and it had on the cover a large hanger with a kilt hanging and had the words “get your kilt on” on it. I’m am almost positive that this is a standard procedure for anyone that applied, but I’m just posting to make sure that I’m right. It is standard procedure right?

I believe so.

I was put off by what was on the first page inside
Poor judgement…

Hey guys I was checking my “Where am I in the Process” page and I noticed this row stating “admission score report form”, right below “application complete.” What does this mean? Thanks.

Well not to get your hopes up, b/c it very well could be standard but I remember getting the “get your kilt on” package and I was accepted. The real question is if everyone got it. Not getting it does not mean you’re not in, because not all decisions have been made, but I remember in the “where am I in the process” page last year it showed that my application had been pulled and the committee had adjourned or something like that, so my decision was made by this time last year and I got in. So if you got it, I’d say at the very least it’s not a bad sign, and if you didn’t, your decision may not have been made yet so don’t worry. What does it say your status is in the process page?

I got it and I was wait-listed. So it’s probably just standard procedure

It is standard procedure

btw today I checked my status page and i have an entry for 2/18/ but there is no description of the document in the table. so essentially it is a blank line with only the date 2/18…anyone else have this?

I also have a blank line with the date 1/29.

Speculation from past years seems to be that the blank line means they made your decision, but I don’t see how they could have decided on me so early.

i searched up on CC what the blank line means and I got this from steelersngators, who I know is a trustworthy source.

“Its nothing really. It was just this line on the Where I Am in the process page last year for RD students. They thought it predicted if you could be accepted or not but it ended up being a false alarm.”

Last year this was debated over and over and there was no correlation between getting the Get Your Kilt on packet and whether or not you got in - likewise the phone calls and the blank lines.

My son got the “get your kilt on” package before he even submitted his application.

My son got this package a week or so ago as well. I find it kind of interesting that CMU would send these packages out to kids who have already applied. Obviously, the kids who have already applied are interested in the school. It seems a waste

I didn’t get the package.

I was accepted.

problem solved.
