Geting into Wharton

Omg, im a sophmore, but i rlly wanna get into wharton, my freshman year went by ok. i had 4A and 5B. I m at central High school and my gpa is 3.88, for 10 th grade, i m taking chemisty AP and English 2 Honors. I dont know how much i shoudl be studying and stuff to get into wharton… I mean, should i study like 3 hours a day? well, tell me some tips adn give me some advice plz!!!

You don’t “study” to get into colleges… lol. Just study for your SATs, do well in school and have good extracurriculars!

I don’t really understand what you’re saying lol…

what im saying is, is my gpa and grades ok? is it gonna mess me up? and for those who have gotten into wharton, did u read all day? to increase ure vocab and stuff.

omg like lol

“and for those who have gotten into wharton, did u read all day? to increase ure vocab and stuff.”

Uh… getting into college doesn’t work like that

Reading will help you with your vocab for the sat.

Try to do alot your sophomore year. Take many more ap or honors courses than your are planning on right now. I’m interested in wharton also and I will be entering my sr. year. I’m struggling to get a lot done that I could of done earlier in high school such as studying for sat/act and taking the subject tests.

Take as much math as you possibly can and take the sat math II subject test.

Take as many AP honors classes as you can and volunteer places.

try to get an internship.

ermm. thanx alot, but i m only able to tae 2 advanced classes. And, wi lbe taking advacne math. thnx!! and im doing 50 community service hours a year. i m leader of a recycling program at central. Thats about it. I ll work hard. thnx!! Any other tips, feel free to leave!

Wharton’s pretty selective; you should have ECs that stand out. Most applicants have done community service, you shouldn’t be counting that as a strong suite…

On the plus side, going to Central hs is huge. I know someone who is a Central grad and apparently Penn takes quite a few from there each year. I forget the exact # but he told me Penn (don’t know how many into Wharton)accepted something like 50+ in his class (of 600), he graduated 9 years ago however. Penn likes Philly kids esp from inner city, very diverse schools with top reputations and Central’s probably the best in the city with those criteria.

On the down side, 5 B’s is a lot because the schools’s so competitive. What’s your class rank?

“and for those who have gotten into wharton, did u read all day? to increase ure vocab and stuff.”

um, no offense but LOLOLOLOLOL

omg i think your doin like totally fine n stuff. thx!! lol

go wartin!!!111

hmmm similar questoin. How selective is wharton really? Is it on the level of HYPS…more selective, less? Can anyone compare it to another school’s process. Also, does the business school look for more rounded kids, or more numbers-based kids? Thanks

my rank is probly like 65, but i ll pull it up

another thing is, besides just community service, i helped out at certain marathons. For example, i did the aids walk , which could have given me community servece but i decided not to accept it. I also did osme distance runs, i didnt participate but i helped out with the program and the handing out of water bottles and stuff… hopefull , thats pretty good too!

you won’t get in with a rank and gpa like that. you can’t pull it up to the necessary level in time even with all a’s.

There is no “formula” of 3 hours/day to get into any college. It’s more complex than you apparently think it is.

Am I the only one that pictures the indian chick from The Office when reading the OP’s posts?

word lol…i agree
