Hi. Can anyone presently at Penn let me know the limit on the number of credit hours that you can pursue at Penn State University Park in one semester ? In case there’s no limit is it possible to complete a BS in just one year in case someone is that determined?

No! sorry, but I can’t help laughing at this thought even if you are determined.

Full time - 12-19 credits per semester. 15 average. 19 being extremely difficult. Besides that, not all courses will be available to you when you need it.
You need 134 credits for a degree.

Even if you took both summer sessions you would not be able to graduate in one year.

@deutschethinker

No it is not possible. Anything over 19 credits is an overloaded schedule and anything significantly more than that would be virtually impossible for an engineering major.

Consider the fact that courses have prerequisites.

For example.
Consider CHE 340 requires BMB 251 and Chem 212
212 requires 210 which requires 112 which requires 110

Since OP is so hopeful, let me start at the other end - what percentage of engineering majors graduate in 6 years?

PSU’s overall 4 and 6 year grad rates are 62.3% and 85.3% respectively (2012) data.

Couldn’t find any data on engineering in particular. I don’t have a gut feeling on whether they would be higher or lower (smarter kids than the overall population, much harder curriculum).
