Getting a job in investment banking as an industrial engineer

<p>Got questions…
I am majoring in industrial engineering in Georgia Tech.
And considering minoring in Economics.
I just want to know graduating from Georiga Tech as an industrial engineer ( minor in economics) would help me to get a job in investment banking firms. (assuming that I got GPA around 3.6)
Cuz I heard from a guy who is working in Goldman Sachs that there are quite a number of engineers working in that firm. And I know Georgia Tech is the best industrial engineering school…</p>

<p>Or is it better to MS in financial engineering, then apply for a position in investment banking? </p>

<p>There are a good number of engineers at investment banks. Many will come from your expected feeder schools (Penn, Columbia, MIT, Cornell, etc.). Check out your career services to see how engineers and GA Tech students do at investment banks in terms of recruiting and job placement. If it isn’t too great and you don’t have any connections in the industry, you are going to be much better off getting an MS in financial engineering if it’s from a school like Princeton, Columbia, NYU, etc.</p>
