After going through my courses for next semester, I realized that I have enough time to fit in a second job into my schedule. I currently tutor at my school’s Writing Center, and I love the job. For next semester, I want to pick up tutoring for General Biology and Introductory Physics. However, I’m worried that I might be in over my head, considering that I’m taking Anatomy and Physiology I/II, which is one of the most challenging undergraduate courses offered.
How should I go about this? Would it be worth taking on this job when I could be studying for Anatomy?
I agree with @snowfairy137, pick up one or the other and see how it goes with your courseload. If you find you have time and motivation to do more then do more.
@snowfairy137 I can tutor up to 4 subjects, so I can tutor both biology and physics in the same shift. @NorthernMom61 from what it looks like right now, my classes end at 4:30 MW, 11 TR, and 12 F so that gives me a lot flexibility in choosing what times I want to work.
Sounds doable. My daughter took A&P and organic chemistry at the same time and was able to keep up with all of her activities (multiple music groups, club sport, engineering societies). Not a job, but with all that did very well. I think students who are busy with meaningful things tend to do better academically. Good luck.
