Getting into Georgia Tech and UGA

Hello,

I am just finishing my sophmore year at an extremely difficult private school in the atlanta area. Throughout my first two years i have about a 3.7 gpa in mostly honors classes. I took the sat in 7th grade and got a 1500 (out of 2400) and took the psat as a freshman and got 98th percentile in math, 94th in critical reading and 85th in writing skills. Both of my parents work at tech and i am involved in many clubs at my school. I have played baseball competitivly since i was little and am on the jv team. Do you think I am on the right track to get into either of these schools and what should i do to improve my chances of getting in?

and the 3.7 gpa is including extra points for honors classes. its more like a 3.4 without extra points

Take as much math and science as you can. Try to get your grades up. If the honors courses are too much pressure, take the regular class. If your school is that difficult then those classes are probably equivalent to honors classes in less competitive public schools. Depending on what major you’re interested in, you may want to enter science fairs or take drafting classes outside of school. Be well rounded: keep playing baseball, play an instrument, volunteer.
