I am a freshman at Mass College of Pharmacy/Boston, in their pre-med program, working very hard. I am wondering if this program is recognized by good med schools. I am very serious about going to med - school, and need as much advice as possible so that I can get started right away to be successful. My interest right now is DO. What advice can you give me??

Where you go for undergrad does not play a large role in getting into med school.

For advice, try reading the stickied threads at the top of this forum, for starters.

The single best piece of advice at this point is to speak with you premed advisor. There are lots of requirements, rules, deadlines, etc. Your best advice will come from someone who knows the educational structure of your college.

General advice: do well in your courses, get some relevant experience in clinical work, research, or both, get to know your professors so you can get good letters of recommendation.

New DO schools have recently opened or are opening in WA, TN, CO plus you got UNECOM, NYCOM, PCOM and the NJ DO school up your way. Good grades and a decent MCAT’ll get you in from MCP-B.
