I’m considering what colleges to apply to next year. I need to know what chances I have of getting into any computer type schools like RIT, VTech, etc… (Not MIT, I have NO CHANCE).
I noticed that our of 21 applicants to RIT from my school, all were accepted, and 3 of them had about a 2.4~2.7 GPA, and pretty bad SAT’s!!! The rest had anywhere from 3.0~4.0 with 1750~2200 SAT. I go to the Singapore American School (rated one of the top 4 international schools in the world). So will that help me get in even though my GPA is a flat 3 as of now.

My grades have been a roller coaster ever since 9th grade. from 1st to 7th grade I’ve had straight A’s. But in 9th, my GPA became a 2.28, my sophomore year (when I moved to Singapore) it became a 2.7, and this year, it’s about a 2.8 as of now. However, next year I’m taking courses that I will most likely ace, such as AP CS, Hypermedia, Building a PC, and other fun but easy courses for me. So hopefully by first semester end I will have raised my GPA by a lot.

As for extracurriculars, I’m an Eagle Scout, played football for 2 years, played rugby for 2 years, Track and Field for 3 years, and I have over 200 hours of community service.

Assuming I get good grades next year, what are my chanced of getting into schools like RIT, VTech, or perhaps FSU, UCF?

Thanks!
