Getting into SFSU

I’m coming to the end of junior year and I want to major in film! However, I’m super nervous about my chances of getting into any college really but at the moment the school is like to attend is SFSU.

I am an in-state resident and I need some tips!

GPA and SAT/ACT?

The Cal states use a formula called the eligibility index based on the combination of your weighted GPA in certain courses plus either your SAT or ACT score. You can see the formula here:

Once you figure out your eligibility index you can check whether you are in the range for certain universities. Are you near SFSU because it gives preference to its local applicants.

I am to take my SAT/ACT in June

I am not in their ‘local area’

As a non-local applicant to a non-impacted program, you probably need a 3300 SAT EI to be a comfortable applicant.
That equates to about a 2.75 CSUGPA and an 1100 SAT. Impacted programs vary widely but, can be much more selective. Here’s some info on the impaction list.
