<p>Would being far away from Cali help me at all? </p>
<p>I’m only a Sophomore, but I’ve been planning for college for awhile, and Notre Dame is my first choice, but Stanford is probably second. M H.S. has this online guidance site called Family Connect, it is where you pick out your H.S. classes. They also have a college search and one of the features is comparing your grades and test scores to other kids who went to my H.S. and now go to the college you are looking at. </p>
<p>For example: 4.47GPA - 1520 SAT(1600) - 31 ACT 1/1 applied/accepted
thats UCLA</p>
<p>Notre Dame 4.25 1426 2086 SAT 31 ACT- 28/67</p>
<p>Stanford Univ 4.36 GPA 1420 1920 SAT 29 ACT - 1/7</p>
<p>The GPA is is pretty high, 4.6 is about tops at my H.S. (I have a 4.1, 4.25 was the highest possible for frosh).
But those SAT and ACT scores look really weak for Stanford standards. So, I’m thinking this kid must be an athlete on a scholly, or have some REALLY kick-*** EC’s, because if he got in with those scores, I think I have a good shot. Or do you guys just think he had great EC’s and a huge hook? Maybe a killer essay?</p>
