Getting into Stats class

I want to take a lower division stats class, but I’ve never dealt with the stats department before. Seeing how my first pass is relatively late, does anybody know how the UCLA stats department handles waitlists, PTE numbers, and students who want to enroll in a full class? The physics department is willing to add and switch students who come into the office and beg them (physics 6B saw a flock of students switch from Coroniti to Arisaka), so I was wondering what the stats department is like.

Seconded 10char

You have two options.

1) Go visit the Stat Department and ask the counselor if you will be able to enroll.
2) Directly email the professor and ask if he gives any PTE #'s.

I wouldn’t trust random posts on CC. It takes a whole 10 minutes to get an official answer.

Even if someone posted an answer on here, you would still have to do one of the above anyways.

I’ve used a PTE twice in the statistics department, but they were both upper div classes. Each time, I emailed the professor and got it that way.

If you can’t get it from the professor, talk to Glenda[/url”>http://directory.stat.ucla.edu/glenda-jones]Glenda
