How important is the caliber of the undergraduate school in being accepted at a top level graduate school? Majoring in Humanities - possibly English.

It is important. If you were from the admissions committee, would you rather choose someone from Harvard or from an unknown community college, if this is all you know about them? However, it is NOT everything. If you have a high GPA and you stood out during college, you can have a chance. Try to show to the adcom in which ways you are a better candidate than those who come from top schools. Good luck!
