I thought all of my essays were very solid, but perhaps none totally blew it out of the park
Personal statement - It’s about becoming an adult in my family through debating in politics. Also about my Uncle who treated me like an adult by discussing intellectual topics and how I am starting to hold my own against him,
Main UChicago Essay - Answered “where’s Waldo” by talking about all the ways you can describe his location (space, time, metaphysically, etc)
Why UChicago - Some humor involved. Talked about intellectual, nerdy student body and the core and house system, etc.
Favorite things - Wrote about my favorite comic books (Tintin, Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert, Foxtrot, and The Far Side) and how good they are in general and how they shaped me as a thinker
Teacher recs - Pretty solid
Counselor rec - Very good. Knew him very well personally.
