Yes and yes, but…there are many people who know athletic recruiting here, and the power of CC is in crowd sourcing. So I would encourage you to post athletic recruiting questions here, but I am happy to communicate via PM in addition to that.

@landscapeeveryday you are at a U.S. boarding school. If you are playing tennis there…discuss recruiting with your coach also.
I always recommend getting THE ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP PLAYBOOK because it sets out the recruiting process clearly and concisely.
The first thing is to determine if you are recruitable. Your coach should be helpful; also the reaction of college coaches you have been in touch with. Recruiting is like a job, so it doesn’t make sense to put all that effort in if there is unlikely to be a good outcome.
Also, read through old tennis, and d3, recruiting threads in the athletic recruiting forum.
To be brutally honest, being international can be a bit of a headwind, especially at the schools everyone has heard of. Less so if you don’t need FA, but as I read your assessment of your CC, I also am wondering if you are not hearing something in their message. Or perhaps as at BS, it is not uncommon for students to be assigned a CC in winter of junior year, the lack of response could simply be that you are trying to engage someone who doesn’t want to engage yet. And there’s usually a reason for their timing. Don’t assume they aren’t helpful. Instead, try to understand where your wires are crossed.
Fully agree that your best “in” could be tennis, so see how your ranking stacks up against those at the schools you favor and take the advice to review the threads here on recruitment. Your coach s.b. able to help you as well. It sounds like you came into BS as an impact player, and it can help the program if they show good support for top players. Iow, your interests are aligned on this!

My Varsity coach doesn’t know much about it but I just take initiative to email people around my area to learn more and stuff and I organized my own independent program to play year round. So if there is any outside source you could provide to me, it will help me a lot!

CC - They are always there and willing to help and give advice, however it seems the advice they are giving are stuff I already know. I was asking them about honors and awards, or summer activities. They gave me pay to play summer programs and scholastic awards…. If that explains a little.
Yes, I think in the tennis community I def impacted quite a bit. I’m just hesitant because tennis, I started later than most people, it will take a lot to be able to recruit to NYU, Uchicago etc.. So I rather focus on other things with my academics and ECs but I’d still continue striving for the best for tennis and doing the regular recruiting process. But if I cannot make it big, I can’t use tennis. Hope you could see where I’m coming from. Usually it requires 6-10 UTR. I haven’t played a lot of tournements yet I would say I’m a 3-5… So It would take extra effort to get to 6-10. Not saying that it is impossible, but I am trying to do that, if cannot I’d still have my other Ecs to lean back on

I agree probably not recruitable at this point, at least at the relatively selective D3s, but you just finished soph year. It’s up to you how much time/effort you want to put into improving in tennis, and you would need to play more tournaments. Something to think about and consider this summer. I would encourage you to prioritize the ECs that you enjoy most, and go from there when it comes time to building your college list.
