Would you guys say that it’s easier finding a research position in a lab as a pure Biology major as opposed to a Biology and Society major when one wants to go into medical school later?

No, there are a lot of research positions available.

The only time I felt discriminated against was when professors refused to give me a research position because I was premed (vs. grad school hopeful).

Why do profs discriminate against pre-meds?

Because they stereotypically are only doing it for the resume building, and not for actual interest in research.

This translates into lack of work ethic, mediocre creativity, etc.
