I was offered to take the SAT test for the Duke Tip talent search ,but something went wrong so i wasn’t allowed to take the test.I would like to know a way to get a scholarship for this particular college ,Duke University ,in North Carolina

First and critically, Duke undergraduate admission is “need blind,” which means acceptance decisions are made with NO consideration of the applicant’s financial status. Second, the overwhelming majority of Duke’s undergraduate financial assistance is “need based” grants, which means “scholarships” are provided based on the student’s documented financial requirements. Therefore, one is admitted with NO knowledge or review of his wealth and one receives necessary financial assistance based on demonstrated need. The foregoing principally applies to domestic/US candidates and undergraduates.

In sum, if you are admitted, Duke will provide whatever financial assistance you require to attend (usually a combination of grants, loans and work/study opportunities).

This website (http://financialaid.duke.edu) offers comprehensive and detailed information regarding undergraduate financial aid.

Duke’s TIP Talent Search is for students in 4th-8th grade to be admitted to the TIP Program, which offers summer coursework catered to that age group. It is in no way related to – or indicative of – the possibility of a college scholarship, or even admission, to Duke University when you reach your senior year of high school. Although it can be listed as an “award” when you apply. Assuming you’re in middle school or junior high school right now, not sure why you’re asking about Duke undergraduate scholarships. Good luck, though. I took the SAT exam in junior high for a similar-type program at another university.
