We visited Gettysburg yesterday and even though it was Labor Day, classes were in session. The one thing that stood out was how quiet the campus was, outside (lunch was packed with students). There were kids here and there but the quad areas / grass areas were empty. No students sitting out there, no one playing frisbee or anything - is it always that quiet? Admissions said that it’s still the first week of school so a lot of activities haven’t started but it just seemed like students were no where to be found. We love what the school has to offer, they boast almost 100% of their kids are involved in intramurals but we barely saw any kids. If it matters, we were on campus most of the day. Anyone with experience?
Gettysburg alum here. Not sure what time of day it was, but usually there are kids hanging outside the student union and in adirondeck chairs throughout campus on nice days. It is a big campus for a small school, so kids get spread out a bit. Plus almost 1/3 of students are athletes so a big portion could have been at practice. Rest assured, kids are active and have fun there. Very social school…
