Gibson Portal Question

Although my son loved Tulane, he has chosen to attend Emory.

We’re trying to notify Tulane that he will NOT be attending. For other schools we’ve been able to do so through their admissions web portal. We cannot find a link or way on Gibson to officially notify Tulane that he will be going elsewhere. Can anybody help?

I can’t help as far as the portal, but congrats on Emory! He can just send an email to his admissions person. That will be fine. I imagine there is something more official somewhere, but an email is fine.

As I recall, I think if they go to the admitted students website, there is a spot where they ask you “yes,” “no,” or “still deciding.” http://tulaneinfo.org/admitted/

@Suzanne34 – That was the ticket. Thanks so much. Notably, once we clicked the ‘will not attend’ link we were directed to a page with only two questions. First, what college will you be attending. Second, what percentage of costs at that school will be covered by any sort of scholarship (in our case, that would be zero per cent).

FC – Thanks for all the information, thoughts, and help over the last six months. Your ability to stay so upbeat and positive is impressive. All the schools here on CC would benefit greatly if they had an ombudsman like you.

@AsleepAtTheWheel‌ - Thanks so much for the kind comments. Glad Suzanne had the answer on this one. That is interesting about the two questions. To state the obvious, Tulane is clearly interested in who they “lost” to and how much of a role finances played in the decision. Makes sense. I think it might also make sense if they asked a kind of open ended question that somehow got to what was the key decision factor. It would have to be worded just right to help ensure the most honest and useful answer.

@AsleepAtTheWheel‌ Big CONGRATS on Emory! Awesome school and fun city (I almost attended their law school). I know that was not an easy choice for your family. Sending your S best wishes for success in every respect! :)
