Is anyone familiar with Princeton Review Financial Aid info?
What is “gift aid”? Does that mean grant?
For example, this was copied/pasted from PR for a school in MA.

Financial Aid Rating: 74
Freshman receiving any financial aid: 89%
Undergraduates receiving any financial aid: 88%
Average Percent of Need Met: 77%
Average Total Financial Aid Package: $20,260
*Average Freshman Total Need-Based Gift Aid: $18,275
Average Undergraduate Total Need-Based Gift Aid: $16,214
Average Need-Based Loan: $4,707

*What is this?

Thanks:)

This means need-based grants. The total “financial aid” package at many schools includes things like loans and work-study; this statistic is a way of separating out how much money they’re actually giving their students that doesn’t have to be earned or repaid.

great- thanks!
