Gift for 16-yo girl, recovering from surgery

<p>My niece has just had oral jaw realignment surgery, involving an overnight hospital stay and several weeks of eating nothing that has to be chewed. She is recovering at home now, and I’d like to send her something. She is very smart, a rower, not girly. All suggestions welcome!</p>

<p>Maybe a simple gift certificate for iTunes would be a good choice. She’ll likely be sitting in front of a computer if she’s not able to be active.</p>

<p>tv series on DVD, ITune certificate, comfy sweatpants or cute pajama bottoms. Origami papers and guidebook. Yarn and knitting needles. Watercolors and paper, nice drawing pencils and pad.</p>

<p>A stack of junky magazines, the gossip rags you see at the supermarket check out. There were some times, post op, when I did not feel like working hard enough to read a book, and brain candy was about all I could handle. They helped the time pass, too.</p>

<p>Maybe those cool little BuckyBalls or more reasonably priced no-name magnet balls! There are tons of videos on YouTube teaching things to make from them.</p>
