gift ideas for 25th anniversary?

We’re going to dinner and I thought I’d buy some jewelry, probably some kind of diamond thing, ring or pendant, she likes those. We’re taking 2 nites away as well. Don’t have the time or money for a 2nd honeymoon unfortunately.

If this is for your wife, why not take her jewelry shopping with you and let her pick something out?

Your plan sounds lovely and from the heart.

Yes, take her with you to jewelry shop.

My wife would be ticked if I told her I was taking her shopping so she could pick out her own stuff. Putting the effort in is as important as the end result. I would buy the diamond pendant and a chain from a jeweler with a good return policy.

It is also an imperative to write a mushy card to her. Happy 25th.

How nice! Unless she is someone who prefers surprises, take her with you to choose the jewelry.

Happy 25th!

I loved that H bought a anniversary ring (small 3 diamond) without me and surprised me! (Just make sure it is yellow gold or white gold- what ever her other wedding rings are). I think I would have been upset if he asked me to pick it out! D2 helped him on the final decision. I have a male friend who did the same for his wife- he surprised her with a small band of diamonds. Anniversary rings can be worn on the right hand, too. I just think a 25th deserves a ring. It was very romantic- we were hiking and he surprised me with it- I do think this is my most favored piece not because of it’s looks as much as the thought.

How sweet! :slight_smile: Two words: Costco jewelry. Awesome return policy. Mr. B had no issues returning a $1.5K ring he bought online (he bought 2 pave ones, and when giving me the gift, he asked which one I liked better. Lol!!)

My H gave me a neckless for my birthday that I now wear every day because it warms my heart. He had the GPS coordinates of our first home together engraved on a rectangular pendant. It would also be cool with location of first time you met or first date.

I am also happy with just about anything from www.DavidYurman.com

I also have a 25th coming up and am stymied as to what to get H. @rumrunner, what would you like?

My H has bought me many pieces of jewelry without me. He knows what I like and I have never been disappointed. I second Costco-my sister works there and got her OWN engagement ring there, exactly because of their policies and the quality. Happy Anniversary, OP.

Kajon-what does your H like? It doesn’t have to be a typical anniversary item. I think something personal to him and his likes would be best. For example, I track interesting Star Wars stuff for my H. He’s nuts about the franchise.

I have 2 g/f s who could buy for me, as they know my taste, sometimes pick better than I do. I have yet to find a man who can do the same.

I take that back, my son has bought me some great gifts: an iPad keyboard, a lipstick (extra battery for iPad), wind chimes, lavender bath scents, books.

My husband planned a special day for our 25th anniversary. Drinks at a restaurant overlooking the city, so we could talk about the different buildings we’d designed! Then dinner at another beautiful restaurant. Then a trip to my favorite jewelry store, where I ended up with a wonderful sapphire and diamond ring. I didn’t even know myself what I wanted until I saw the perfect ring! :slight_smile:

Wow, @MaineLonghorn, sounds like a splendid celebration. What did you get your H?

What a great anniversary!

@HImom, ha, I can’t remember what I got him! I will have to ask.

@sseamom - H has every watch, camera and tool that he could ever want. I am toying with setting up a private menu/dining experience at one of our fav restaurants and then booking a room for the night within walking distance of hotel. Oops…I just looked and it will be a Tuesday night. Maybe the hotel and restaurant need to be near his office!

@mainelonghorn - I loved your recap!

@rumrunner - you sound like a keeper!

In addition to the jewelry, send her some flowers.

Or plant something that will flower/bloom at the time of your anniversary each year.

gift idea:

My H really appreciates those photo books. Either spouse could create one with pics and comments re the 25 years together, from dating though wedding, kids and current times.

^^Well hi there, JEM!
We made one of those photo books when my mom turned 70 and there wasn’t a dry eye anywhere. She has 4 daughters, so the book was divided into 4 sections of each daughter as a child, then growing up, getting engaged and married and then finally her grandchildren! She l-o-v-e-d it!!
