Gift

Ok, so before I left on vacation early from school I obviously had to tell my math teacher I’m leaving like two weeks early to ask what assignments to make up. So then after all that, he jokingly says “youre of course bringing me expensive gifts right?”

And then I was like “sure what would you like”
He says " nah it wouldn’t be right for me to ask you for anything"

So now, its pretty much a given that I have to get him something. I don’t know what though. He’s also writing my recommendation next year =P.
Any ideas what to get him?

A fancy and expensive fountain pen? :)

nice^
but maybe an expensive watch would be better.
BTW, I have never and will never give my teachers presents; i loath them all (except for one maybe)

haha, well since you’re going to want a rec from him, a gift is a good idea. Don’t spend a ton of money, but something small would be nice. Maybe make homemade cookies? My teachers seemed happy with those last year.

since he is a teacher, a think the pen would be a good idea… but maybe a rollerball instead of a fountain…

Yeah I have a few pen brands to suggest (they’re “prestigious”):

-Waterman (I have several pens and pencils from this brand, but I got them for free since my dad’s a boss)
-Parker (I’ve heard this one is really prestigious; I have a fountain pen of it myself–my dad gave it to me after his friend gave him one)
-Sensa (I think)

Some of them are really really gorgeous. You can have them gold-plated, too.

Do people actually use fountain pens?

raises hand

I just love pens. I would use it on some fancy creative project and perhaps sometimes on some fancy handwritten paper.

Or I’d just use it to sign my name.

I hat fountain pens. I Tried signing my name once and I looked at my hand seconds later…it was ALL blue! It took me half an hour to get it all off.

lol I like the idea of a fountain pen for a teacher.

stuck-on-1700, maybe you had a crappy low-quality one.
Or maybe you put the ink in too lose and didn’t use it right.
The Parker ones are really nice.

it’s a nice idea, but really messy.

Ah, but it’s unique. I mean, how many people do you see with fountain pens nowadays? I would think a ballpoint would be much too normal.
A fountain pen is like, wow.
And if he’s quite fond of writing utensils (like me), I’m sure your math teacher will like it. It isn’t messy if you get the right one that’s of a good quality and know how to use it. I have a few bad ones, and my one excellent Parker one. The latter doesn’t get messy. The other ones do.

(I should be a commercial advocate… jk)

Gosh darn, now you’re making me feel bad!

I told my teacher i would get her and present when I went to Washington for my internship, and she was no, you shouldn’t. Now i rlly didn’t lol.

But yea fountain pens sound fine.

make it a nice looking expensive pen (not too expensive though).

Get the one with diamonds embedded in a white gold casing covering the entire pen in a mat of bling…it costs a mere $134,000!

Wow, kman, so cheap! It’s ONLY worth the amount that some earn in a year!

(note the sarcasm)

Mmm just look up Parker or Waterman. I think it’s worth something in the double-digits, or maybe even a tad over $100 for some.
I don’t think you need to get one that’s worth the latter.

where are you going?
a shell with sand in it
a sea turtle
sand
ethnic water

are those gift suggestions?^^

Yes, but only if she were to the Caribbean or Costa Rica.

Otherwise, stick to the cliches: ties with statue of David, boxers (might be weird since he’s your teacher), little pieces of rice with his name etched in it (again, might be taken the wrong way)
