Gifted High School

Hi, i go to a very inclusive high school only for gifted children…so when i am writing my applications how can i make sure they take this into account…my grade average is a 71 but it is because of the rigorous marking system…the average iq is 165 … so how can i make sure they understand my average and class rank is so low due to the nature of my school

oh plz exuse da bad spelling and grammar …wz in a rush

What is the name of your school?

Ok. Let’s think about this. There was a person named William James Sidis. He had an IQ of roughly 200. He could learn most of a language in one day, and wrote a paper on fourth dimensional mathematics when he was 8. Oh yeah, he attended Harvard when he was 11.

If you had an IQ of 196, you would compare somewhat to this. But you have a C- average at a school where most of the kids have supposed lower IQs than yourself.

Tell the truth.

by low i mean im 10th in my grade and the name of my school is Bayview Glen, i am not a c student the grade average is 71 my average is 86

Your counselor will/should explain this in his/her school report.

i take it you live in canada?

One of the schools that I go to is kind of like yours (more targeted at “the gifted”) except for just the math, science, and technology areas. My school has folders that give information to the colleges about the program, a list of all available classes, a list of the students in the graduating class, and a special sticker to be put on our transcripts by the NCSSSMST telling the colleges that we were in more difficult courses. Check with your school to see if it does something like this for you.

lol, iq scores are kinda subjective. also, your school should usually be sending a high school report detailing what kind of school it is and how grading works and everything… talk to your guidance counselor and ask to see the report if u want/if they send it… they usually do for every school

If you grade is low, make it up with high stadardize test scores.

165 average IQ? are you kidding me? What test are you taking? the Sparknotes IQ test?
