Downfall #1: I’m East Asian.
Downfall #2: 3.7 GPA UW.

Okay, that’s BAD. (Especially by CC standards)

So here’s the situation. My top two favorite colleges are Cornell and Michigan. I like both of these almost equally and if I got into one and not the other I wouldn’t hold a grudge against the college that rejected me. But, if I go ED Cornell I’ll certainly go there in a heartbeat.

Some stuff I’ve done: 1540 SAT.
ECs (by senior year):
-I play the alto and baritone saxophone, clarinet, trumpet (haven’t played in forever), and marimba.
-Marching Band - Section leader, soloist, Assis. Drum Major (11th) Drum Major, Vice President (12th). 4 years. Band awards for individual and ensemble performances in the regional level.
-Indoor Drumline - Marimba player. 2 years. Band awards similar to Marching Band.
-Pit Orchestra. 2 years.
-Rowan Youth Orchestra - Trumpet player. 2 years.
-Tri-M Honor Society. 2 years.
-Online Text-Based Writing. 4 years.
-NaNoWriMo. 3 years. I can’t finish these on time…
-Interact Club - Vice President. 3 years.
-DECA - Won awards in states and regionals. 2 years.
-UPenn Lab - Volunteer work at the environmental medicine technician lab. 3 years.
-UPenn Biomedical Research Academy - summer program. 1 year, summer. *(Either that or UPenn Physics Academy, but that’s irrelevant)
-Chinese School Volunteering - former volunteer officer. 2 year.
-Virtua Hospital Volunteering. 1.5 years.
-NHS. 1.5 years. (Running for officer, no idea how it’ll go.)

So I like to blow into things, push buttons on a keyboard, and save lives. Essentially. Essays are my forte and recs are sexy.

Before I do what I shouldn’t have done with Michigan and fall in love with Cornell, should I risk my ED on it, or would it be a waste? And I know this is the Cornell forum, but if you had my stats, what college, which you think you had good chances to, would you apply ED?
