ugh, I’m so sorry atomvseve at least you aren’t alone! I’m guessing you applied to barnard too?

OH geeze you guys!

I know it’s hard, but try try try not to freak out about Barnard. It may be “THE dream school” to you, but it IS only one school and a rejection, or even a waitlist for that matter, isn’t going to make you any smarter, more successful, or wonderful than you natually happen to be this very second.

So let us freak out in the excitement of Barnard, but not lose track of ourselves and the rational of the next several days.

I wish all the luck I can give (not sure if I have that much :P) to all of you. I truely believe we will all end up at the place we were ment to.

:)

Oh, PS. I’ve heard from past years that mail can come out randomly, so the closest places may not recieve it first.

I got into NYU too but BARELY. They rejected me for CAS and offered me a spot in LSP…I just got rejected from Northwestern and Wesleyan today so I’m also praying for Barnard.

Same here casablanca25. I got into LSP. I also got into GWU (with a really big scholarship). I’m giddy, but I’m praying for Barnard too. I really, really want to go to Barnard.

What is the BC ID?

Is it the same number as the tracking code?

Never mind…

“For any of the above, please enter the secure site below using the 7-digit application ID included in your offer of admission”

It’s not the tracking code… ugh

I guess they realized there was a backdoor and have now made it to where you definitely need to receive the acceptance first.

Loopleeka: Congrats on GWU! Is Barnard your first choice too? Dunno about you but the LSP offer made me really nervous because it’s like I know now that I BARELY got in and since Barnard is more selective than NYU I’m pretttttty nervous.

"Dear Ms. X,

The Committee on Admissions has completed its review of the candidates who applied to Barnard College for admission in September 2011. To minimize any delay in receipt of our decision, applicants residing outside of the continental United States are also receiving decisions via email.

Congratulations! On behalf of the Committee on Admissions, I am pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to the Barnard College Class of 2015. You were selected from an exceptionally strong group of applicants, and we commend you on your outstanding academic and personal achievements."

Yeah I think it is the same but no one will be able to log in before 4/1…

aw shadow!! you got accepted?!! :)

I’m so happy for you :)

Yes (yayie!)!(all praise be to God).
Thanks!I’m so excited.
Best of luck to you!I really hope you get in!=)

Congrats!! Be sure to post your stats on the official decision thread!!

Thanks Naomiii!
Will get to it soon :)

yay congratulations shadowhunter!!

Thanks!
Best of luck!

Congrats Shadowhunter! happy dances

Casablanca25: It did make me really, really nervous then when I saw GW decision for me, it leveled off a bit (I’m still nervous though).

P.S.: Shadowhunter, is your name a reference to the book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare (who incidentally went to Barnard)? If not, hehe, just ignore me. whistles as she walks away slowly

Thanks LoopLeeka :D.
Yes it is!You’re the first one to recognize it :). I was reading the books when I made my account.
She went to Barnard?!I didn’t know. Thanks for telling me, my decision is closer to being made now ;).

No problem! :)

Ooh, cool! I adore those books. I’m dying waiting for the fourth book (only 11 more days)!

Yep, I remember reading an interview where she mentioned it and on the Wikipedia site she is under the alumnae tab. So cool. This fact only emphasized my need to get into their creative writing program. Hehe.

Yay!Finally someone else who is counting down to Fallen Angels :D.
This is awesome because I wanna minor in Creative Writing!Wow I’m so excited haha.

Yep. I’ve been counting ever since I made the mistake of walking into the bookstore last month for it. I forgot wen it came out and I was searching high and low for it. Hehe.

And you totally should be excited! Congrats again!

Congrats to all of you who are in, good luck to everyone who is waiting! Just a word of advice, don’t think that just because the letter isn’t there right away, you were rejected/waitlisted (since only acceptances are priority mail). I live in Maryland right outside of DC, and when my family from NYC sends me something in regular mail, it only takes two days. But my Barnard priority acceptance came five days after the letters were sent out, so it can be pretty random. I hope to meet many of you in the fall!

Congrats Shadowhunter!

Thanks for posting your letter. :D
