Really interesting and creative main essay on performing CPR on one man who lived and one who died and how that affected my decision to want to become a doctor.
I added an extra essay that highlights my international background/living in many counties and traveling the world and how that affects the way i see the world and what i will bring to a university like BC (did not use BC name specifically) Also highly interested in liberal arts due to my love of English/Anthropology </p>

<p>I fell in love with BC and the Jesuit ideals when i visited two summers ago, but I am very realistic about my chances. I think i have a better chance of being deffered to regular decision than being accepted EA but i hope im not rejected all together. Neither my test scores nor my grades are perfect but im exceptionally hard working and a caring person. I worked very hard on my application and I think it really shows what i would be able to bring to BC. Im very proud of my essay. How much do you think that will weigh an application? Will I be able to find out my decision over the internet on my agora? I will be away in Australia visiting relatives for the xmas break? </p>

<p>3.9 is a bit low for a BC weighted GPA…as well as 3.7. Your ACT score is right on for BC (I’m more familiar with the ACT than the SAT). You have many good ECs and a challenging courseload. I particularly like your service work which shows your interest in the medical field (and ofcourse BC loves service!)</p>

<p>I think essays are very important these days. If you put a lot of hard work into your application, it will show to adcoms.</p>

<p>I have a similar application to yours…31 ACT, Catholic, lots of medical service work, essay about my knee injury related to my decision to become a nurse…strange how much we have in common! lol</p>

<p>I say have a bit more confidence in yourself and hope for acceptance! I think you have a nice shot. Good luck!</p>

<p>Oh and BTW, decisions will not be posted on Agora (don’t know when they will). We have to wait for the letters to arrive :/</p>

<p>But I think you have a pretty good chance at EA admission, Ballerina. I think a 3.7 WGPA from a competitive school is just fine. (I have a 3.65 UWGPA from a similarly typed school, though it is private).</p>

<p>Well I was assuming that weighted gpa is out of a 5.0 scale. With all of the APs and honors classes, I felt a 3.7, even a 3.9, is just a tad low.</p>

<p>And no, they definitely send letters and not emails. There are plenty of threads about BC’s method of notification.</p>
