<p>Which one is more important? Overall ranking of college or Major ranking of college?</p>
<p>For example, I like Lehigh U very much. But it seems like it does not have a strong brain studies program even though they do have one because its neurosci or cognitive sci ranking is not high. But I like its vibe and campus.</p>
<p>Then, should I apply Lehigh? or should I look for other schools that have strong brain study programs?</p>
<p>I don’t think there are rankings systems that are useful for undergrad programs especially for the newer fields like neuro. Lehigh is an excellent school for engineering and sciences so if you know you like it you should apply.</p>
<p>No reason not to apply. But do some research on what grad schools in neuroscience require or like to see to make sure you have the background needed for grad work in that field, should you end up pursuing it. Check out how many faculty Lehigh has in that area as well - if someone goes on sabbatical for a year, will you still be able to get your requirements completed? If research is needed for grad school (most likely), are you interested in the kind of work that faculty there is doing in neuroscience? How many students are majoring in that dept each year vs. the resources available? Then compare Lehigh’s dept to the others you’ve been admitted to and make educated trade-offs, given cost, fit, etc…</p>
