Give me school suggestions...

Hi, I’d like to share my stats and ask for suggestions for school that you think would be on par or reach for me. Schools that I should consider applying too… Events have occured in my life which have led me to mistrust certain decisions I’ve made, and therefore I would like to see what other people think. My stats are not very good, they are ok, but I want to reach higher, you know? but I am an ambitious person, tired of my mediocre performance… I’d like to break the barriers. Please let me know if sharing anything else will help. (ps. I can’t redo any of my test results unfortunatly…)

GPA 96% - public high school
ACT - 32
SAT - V: 800, M: 670, W: 700
SATII - MathII : 650, Chemistry: 680, Literature: 800, Physics: 710

E.C. - typical stuff, the only atypical thing is I’ve worked in a lab for two years, because of that I won a place in a prestigious national competition. I was hired to work during summers in this lab, and additionally I took a paper into a national conference.

I plan to go into science.

(My only request, any chances at Harvard?)

Thanks!

Uhhh… I think Wash U and Emory would fit you like a glove, Northwestern and maybe U Chicago would be good fits, and I’m sure you’d hate Berkeley.

Seriously. How are we supposed to know your likes, dislikes, and your overall preferences about colleges? You don’t just APPLY to the top schools and go to the best one you get into. You find schools with test score averages that are around yours, and get a list of them, and then you just start looking around to find the ones you like.

These kinds of posts annoy me SO MUCH!

You know what? I’m tired of your mediocre performance too! Do some research of your own.

A few questions that may help you get better feedback. Do you need financial? Do you want large or smaller enviroment? Is doing research as undergrad really important?

IMO - Harvard is a reach for everyone, and your tests are not exceptional, but your research is obviously a big plus.

If undergrad research is important to you, which it appears it might be, Harvard is not necessarily the place for the best opportunities in undergrad research.
