<p>I am giving my apartment up for subleasing during the summer from mid-May to end of July. I’m not 100% sure whether my landlord or realty company allows this, but I was wondering if any parents had encountered this issue? How do you suggest going about subleasing the apartment once I find someone who is interested?</p>
<p>First check your lease for legalities. You may face some rules from management- be sure you can live with them. Check your off campus housing and with other students about how things are done at your school. Very common at UW-Madison and I’ll bet your school/campus area has a mechanism in place.</p>
<p>Some leases require approval from the apartment management, others don’t allow it at all.
What are you going to do if the other person does not pay? What if there is any damage done to the property?</p>
