Gleeks/Young Arts Fans

Didn't see this posted anywhere else, but for all you Gleeks and Young Arts fans out there, according to my daughter, one of her fellow 2010 YoungArts theatre alumna, Colby Minfie, has been cast in an upcoming Glee episode, portraying a young Sue Sylvestor. Apparently some light will finally be shed on why Sue hates MT so much!

I see potential in this thread for discussing what a show like Glee means for the performing arts world. I may be corrupting this thread slightly, but with good purpose, I hope!

Glee is my guilty pleasure, a blatant curiosity just to see how bad the storylines can get with good actors, imho. But I'm really intrigued by the potential in the "Kurt and Rachel are auditioning for college" plot. Especially since Emma popped their bubble that Julliard doesn't have an MT program, I've been just waiting for that. I think there's only been one other scene so far focusing on it, when they go to a sort of "practice audition" and everyone there is the exact same type as them. They plan on auditioning for the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts, which only accepts 20 students.

Thoughts?

P.S. I'm really excited to see young Sue in a musical!

BTW the character introduced this weak that comes between Blaine and Kirk is Grant Gustin from Elon University.

Grant Gustin, otherwise know as the "lost Winklevoss triplet."

We met him last weekend at Elon when he surprised his classmates and dropped in. He seems to be a very nice guy who everyone there adored. He talked to the auditionees and came to visit/see Hair before he surprised his parents at home

EmsDad - I do not get the reference - can you help me?

The looks and persona of his character on Glee is very similar to the guys who played the Winklevoss twins in "The Social Network." I work in software so anything Facebook-related is always a water cooler topic (I guess I am showing my ancient-ness by saying "water cooler" instead of "Red Bull fridge").

^^The Winklevoss twins were played by one actor, Armie Hammer, and clever editing. :)
